German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt paid tribute to former player and captain Tony Yeboah on his 54th birthday.

The legendary Ghanaian forward played for the Eagles between 1990 to 1995, where he twice won the German league's top scorer.

"Happy birthday to Eintracht legend Anthony Yeboah! Our former striker, who won the Bundesliga's top scorer award as an Eagles player in 1993 and 1994 and was the league’s first-ever African captain, turns 54," the club posted on Twitter.

Tony Yeboah was born in Kumasi on June 6th, 1966. He played for Ghanaian side Kumasi Cornerstone before leaving for Germany to join FC Saarbrucken in 1988.

He moved to Frankfurt two years later, before moving to England to join Leeds United.

The ex-Black Stars player is revered as one of the best African players to have played in the Bundesliga.
