Executive Director of Ghana Integrity Initiative, Mrs. Linda Ofori-Kwafo, has asked Ghanaians not to indulge in vote selling this election year.

She has asked Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be influenced by politicians who try to sway them with “lies” in the guise of manifesto policies.

Speaking in an interview with www.ghanaweb.com, Madam Kwafo established that some people might think they will profit from exchanging their votes for money but in a very short span of time, it will be realized that such a deal is a complete sham.

“If they come selling votes, say you won’t buy. Tell them you want to hear what useful policies they are putting in place to move the country forward. Don’t be interested in the T-shirts, the 5cedis and 10 cedis because you won’t see them till the next four years,” she maintained.

She then appealed to citizens to desist from voting for roads, water and so on.

“We are now in an era where people tell politicians that if you don’t complete our roads, we will not vote for you. If you don’t give us the water, we won’t vote for you. If you go on that tangent then we are missing it. Taking bribes, marketing votes and all those things must stop. If there is no buyer then there will be no seller,” she stated.
