Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Essiam has extended his contract with Swiss giants FC Basel.
Essiam initially joined the RotBlau from Ghana Premier League outfit Berekum Chelsea during the 2021/22 season.
The budding enforcer made 21 appearances for Fabio Celestini’s men before being shipped out on loan to Stade Lausanne last term.
The young player returned to FC Basel in the summer after making nine appearances for Stade Lausanne.
On Thursday, Essiam extended his stay at the club by penning a two-year deal.
The deal will expire in 2028.
Essiam featured prominently for the Ghana U23 side that failed to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in France.
