Former President John Dramani Mahama says the hardship in Ghana under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has reached very unbearable levels that even their supporters are complaining.

He said NPP sympathisers are complaining louder than National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters currently.

For him, the only way to bringing the growing hardship to an end is to vote the NDC back into office in 2020.

Former President Mahama made these remarks on Friday while addressing NDC constituency executives at Hemang Lower Denkyira as part of his tour of the Central Region.

It was Day Three of his tour.

He is campaigning ahead of NDC’s presidential primary of December 7, 2018.

Mr Mahama said the recent fuel price hikes have rather made standard of living worse for the average Ghanaian.

He explained that when the NDC was in government, a gallon of petroleum was sold at GH¢14 at the pumps and Ghanaians were complaining then.

Now, it is GH¢25 and still going, he said in local language Twi.

There is hardship in the country, he stressed, and it is not even NDC supporters who are complaining.

For him, the NPP resorted to lies and falsehood to win power in the last general elections and they have been exposed.

He analogised that if a guy woos a lady based on lies and falsehood and wins her heart, that cannot be resorted to again if the guy brings the lady home.

She will get to know that all that you said were lies, he said, casting insinuations at the NPP.
