Exton Cubic Group unfairly and insincerely treated by government - Kweku Baako

The Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr, has hit hard at government for the manner in which it dealt with Exton Cubic Group relating to the Nyinahin bauxite concession.

Barely a week ago, government announced it revoked the mining license of the company after seizing and detaining its equipment for weeks on the orders of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah.

But Mr Baako who spoke about the raging controversy between the company and government on Metro TV Good Morning Ghana today, Thursday, September 14, 2017 said the actions of government and its actors smacks of insincerity and unfairness.

“It was untidy…absolutely untidy……I have to be frank with you.  Everything, the sequence of events, the Ministers, the Ashanti Region Minister,  substantive minister, over the seizure of equipment all those were very completely untidy. It lacked fairness and at the end of the day, there is some cancellation or whatever. I think it lacked some honesty… that is my feeling I think the Exton Cubic Group should just proceed to the courts that is my view.”

He suggested that the best option available to the company is to head to the courts to determine the outcome in accordance with due process; indicating that certain the rules were circumvented by government in dealing with the company.

“I am clear in my mind there is a cut somewhere. I don’t think fairness or honesty has been displayed….this is my view and I know their people who disagree with me but they entitled to disagree”.

‘The matter has been poorly handled by politicians who have refused to reason and resolve the issue in a very clean matter”, he emphasized.
