TOP GHANAIR OFFICIAL DAMNS REPORTS
…EX-CEO SENDS “LOVE LETTER” FROM LONDON

Mr. Joe Browne, one of the top guns of the now hapless Ghana Airways, who is also among the officials cited by the forensic audit on the national carrier, has sunk his “fangs” into the recently obtained forensic audit, report on the national carrier “ripping “ it into pieces in the process and challenging the basis for most of the findings and recommendations of the audit report.

Mr. Brown, the Head of Engineering at Ghana Airways whose recent return to his desk has created some tension at the airline’s head office over whether he should be on leave or not, told the paper that he has just received a copy of the forensic audit and he is expected to make his comment by April 30, after which he will make copies of his comment available to the media.

He is being accused of committing Ghana Airways to an extra works contract with Malaysia Airlines in a memo on plain sheets of paper in his handwriting rather than an officially typed and endorsed Ghana Airways letter head with the co-operate logo on May 11, 1999.

Meanwhile, the Ex-CEO, Quartey Jnr. has written a ‘love letter’ to the paper and its readers pointing out that he never fled Ghana but indeed gave a full three months notice prior to his departure from Ghana Airways.

He said because the paper did not know these facts or chose to ignore them, they have, through publication, sought to place a rather sinister connotation on his well-intended actions.

“I am indeed innocent and will focus on demonstrating and establishing this fact by utilizing all avenues available to me”, he said.
