A member of the Ashanti Regional Communications team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Francis Dodovi believes violent raids by pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) militant groups Delta and Invincible forces is because members are jobless.

According to him, the president prior to assuming power promised them jobs and must immediately honour his promise to them in order for them to stop harassing innocent Ghanaians in public offices whose crimes are that they are discharging their official duties.

He wondered why Delta Forces will besiege a place like the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) and conduct themselves in the manner they did wondering if President Nana Akufo-Addo has not already started sleeping on the job.

“He must find work for his jobless Invincible and Delta Forces to stop invading security installations. It appears Nana Addo is sleeping on the job and must wake up and stamp his authority to show he is indeed in charge. Imagine a place like the RCCC, if they can go there and create a bloody situation what can’t they do in other areas”, he asked.

Mr Dodovi said Ghanaians are already beginning to be disappointed in the administration of Nana Addo because of the militancy and rowdy conduct of the vigilante groups in the party who have vowed to torment and harass persons perceived not to be members of the NPP.

It would be recalled that some members of the New Patriotic Party invincible and Delta forces Friday morning stormed the Ashanti regional coordinating council and forcefully demanded the removal of the regional security coordinator.

George Adjei was appointed by the President for the post but according but the groups claim they cannot work with him because he is not from the region.

They broke into Adjei’s office manhandled him and asked him to leave the premises.

It took the timely intervention of the Police to rescue Adjei who was whisked to the Central Police station for protection.
