A former Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Akwasi Ofori Agyemang Boadi has resolved that he and other members of his party will henceforth seek refuge at Manhyia Palace for lack of confidence in the state security agencies.

“We are in Kumasi and the rightful owner of this land belongs to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei TutuII. I am Prince of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and I will run to my father for protection if Delta Force try to launch their attack on me” he revealed on Kumasi-based Ultimate Fm hosted by Lantam Papanko.

“What is recently happening in the country is distasteful. Ghana is now in a democratic coup. Each day you see Delta Force thugs attacking personalities or state institutions what kind of democracy are we practicing”

“National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region has lost hope under this government. The lawlessness is rampant and we don’t trust security agencies”

“As former appointees we fear our lives despite assurances from the government. We do not believe President Akufo-Addo will walk his talk “

The President over the week paid a courtesy call to the Asantehene assuring him and the people in the region total calm after members a private security wing of his party assaulted the regional security coordinator, George Agyei.

NPP Ashanti Regional, Bernard Antwi Bosiako says the vigilante group only visited the victim but they intent not to assault him.

A day after the President assurances to the Asantehene,another vigilante group reportedly have stormed the Eastern Regional branch of the NHIS office and attacked an there.
