Renowned media personality Vim Lady born Afia Pokua says the president of the Ghana Journalist Association,(GJA) Albert Kwabena Dwumfour does not owe President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo any apology over his comment on galamsey.

It would be recalled that the GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour called on the President, to declare a state of emergency over the illegal mining crisis, commonly known as galamsey and also free the Democracy Hub Protesters who were arrested.

He argued that declaring a state of emergency would empower authorities to enforce mining laws more effectively and put a halt to the devastating activities.

Mr Dwumfour pointed out that despite numerous interventions and policies aimed at fighting galamsey, the menace persists, with significant damage to Ghana’s natural resources.

He urged the President to act decisively, as the consequences of inaction would be dire for future generations and the country’s ecosystem.

Following a back and forth online about the comments of the GJA President, Vim Lady has emphasized that Kwabena Dwumfour owes the president, Nana Addo no apology for his call and demand.

According to her, Akufo-Addo made the worst comments during his time with the “Kum me Preko” demo he staged alongside other leaders; hence he doesn’t need to be offended by the call from the GJA president.
