Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II
The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has been discharged from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) following an accident he had in the Oti Region.
His discharge came shortly after a visit by President John Dramani Mahama, who checked on the King in the evening of Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The President, accompanied by his entourage, arrived at the facility to see the Greater Accra King. Videos shared on social media captured Mahama and his team entering the hospital to visit the Ga Mantse.
In another video, the King was seen in his V8 vehicle heading home after being discharged from the health facility.
The Ga Mantse was involved in a road accident in the early hours of Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

The incident reportedly occurred around 2:00 a.m. at Pai-Katanga in the Oti Region while the King was returning to Accra from Tamale.
Palace sources revealed that the Ga Mantse had traveled to the Northern Region on a private visit at the invitation of the Yaa Naa.
The engagement was described as cordial and significant, forming part of ongoing efforts by traditional leaders to deepen unity and strengthen bonds of mutual respect among Ghana’s revered institutions.
On his return journey, the vehicle conveying the King was involved in the accident. Fortunately, he escaped unhurt and is said to be in good spirits.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service reportedly responded promptly after being alerted to the scene.
