Accra, Jan. 16, GNA - President John Evans Atta Mills on Friday named Colonel Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (Rtd), as Acting National Security Co-ordinator.
A statement signed by Mr. J. K. Bebaako-Mensah, Secretary to the President, also named Mr Yaw Donkor, Acting Director of Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and Mr Yaw Osei, Acting Director, Research Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The appointments take immediate effect.
The statement said pursuant to Article 89 (1) and (2) of the 1992 Constitution, President Atta Mills has also nominated Lt.-Gen. Arnold Quainoo (Rtd) former General Officer Commanding the Ghana Armed Forces and Mr Peter Nanfuri, former Inspector-General of Police, to the Council of State.
