The Head of Complaints and Grievances at Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) Mr. Asamoah Dwomoh has instructed members of the association across the country to stop fighting government and resume work at their various offices for the betterment of the nation.

‘Am urging all our members to resume work, work very hard for the development of Ghana,’ he entreated.

The angered staff went on strike on July 27 due to government failure to pay them some benefits they hitherto enjoyed before their migration onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSS) by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).

The Association and government on Thursday signed an agreement for the latter to implement recommendations on reports reached between leadership of the association and Employment and Labour Ministry next year.

But speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, he said they have called off their strike based on the new negotiations, expressing hope that government will heed to their demands if retained.

He envisaged that any government which comes into power will implement their recommendations should the current government be voted out.

‘We are in election year, so there could be a change in power, or the current government will be retained, politics is tricky so anything is possible, we have signed the agreement with government of Ghana and not President Mahama as a person. During former president J.J Rawlings regime, we set out recommendation, it was implemented when former President Kufuor came to power, so we have hope that any government which will come to power will implement our recommendations,’ he explained.

Mr. Dwomoh expressed appreciation to their members for fighting for their rights.
