Ghanaians in Lagos and Ogun States under the auspices of National Association of Ghanaian Communities in Nigeria (NAGHACON) are yet to show the world what they have in stock for the celebration of their country's 50 years of Independence.

They said since the world's attention was focused on the celebrations in Ghana on the 6th of March, 2007 and most their national were most likely to travel home to witness it their celebration would be just a drop in the sea if it happened on the same 6th March, 2007, therefore they shifted it forward in order for people to join them to celebrate. Their programme of activities are scheduled as follows:

Saturday, 24/3/07 - The Anniversary celebration proper with a live Ghanaian Band. It will witness cultural displays, exhibition of Ghanaian dishes, drinks, beverages, wears, etc. Sunday, 25/3/07 - Inter-denominational Thanksgiving Service with a respected top Nigerian Pentecostal Leader as The Speaker. A football match between Black Stars Supporters Club Nigeria and Nigeria Football Supporters Club is scheduled to be played on a date in April 2007 to be confirmed next week.

Similar programmes have and are still being organized by NAGHACON in Imo State, Kano State, Kaduna State, Enugu State, Gombe State, Borno State, Kwara State, Oyo State.

We wish all happy celebration and Congratulations.
