Former 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye has stated categorically that the outcome of the 2012 general elections doesn’t truly reflect the presidential candidate, Ghanaians voted for.

The former legislature described President Mahama’s continual stay in office as ironic; with an explanation that majority of Ghanaian voted for Nana Akufo-Addo to become their president and not the current leader.

On 27th of January, 2013, Professor Mike Oquaye together with some concerned youth assembled at Dome Kwabenya Park to launch the “Let My Vote Count” campaign to address certain malfeasance that accompanied the 2012 elections.

In an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Okay FM, Professor Mike Oquaye described the program as a success and maintained that it was solely aimed at informing Ghanaians that we are being led by a “loser”.

He expressed grave worry at the way and manner the NDC used "fraudulent" means to win the 2012 presidential elections and enstooled their flagbearer as president of this republic .

"People can sometimes use canny ways to deprive you of your own belongings. This fraudulent ways can destroy a lot of things if not curtailed. People who are engaged in such acts don’t use the gun but can use their pen to steal," he cautioned.

"The Supreme Court needs to hear from all of us citizens who want answers. If the NDC wants to go to court thinking that they can explain why 600,000 more votes or 400,000 votes with no verification, both of which are against the law, then let them try," he dared.
