An Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association Winfred Osei Parma has disclosed that Ghana has a risk being punished by FIFA should they consider recalling suspended duo Sulley Muntari and KP Boateng without publicly lifting their suspension.
The former Black Satellites management committee chairman explains the nation’s football governing body will need to officially lift the duo suspension before they could be invited by re- appointed coach Kwesi Appiah.
Parma’s comments come in reaction to Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah’s response to a question directed to him during his unveiling ceremony whether he intends recalling the former AC Milan midfielders.
Speaking on Kumasi based Abusua FM, Parma said” The players who are suspended must apologize publicly but have they done that no because they’re still serving the ban from the FA which yet to be lifted.
”All these legal incumbencies must be sorted out before we can finally think of calling them back to the Black Stars team”
He continued ”If a player who is serving a ban is invited to play for Ghana FIFA will pushing you by taking away points from you because you have clearly demonstrated that this a ban player and a ban player can never feature for a state that is what the law states intentionally.”
”What will happen is that the FA will need to lift their ban publicly since they were ban publicly before they can be handed invitation to play for the Black Stars again”.
Though Kwesi Appiah says once his technical agree that the duo should be recalled to the Black Stars team Parma insists he should exercise restraint until their ban is lifted publicly before calling Muntari and Kelvin Boateng back to the Black Stars team.
