The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) claims Ghanaians are already disappointed with the abysmal performance of the Akufo-Addo-led government three months after the NPP took over the reins of government.

According to the National Chairman of the NDC, Kofi Portuphy, a large section of the public have regreted contributing to the victory of the NPP during the December 7, 2016 elections.

“Why am I optimistic that the NDC can bounce back in 2020, Ladies and Gentlemen, don’t we hear Ghanaians expressing regret that they’ve exchanged their colour TVs for Black and White, don’t we hear expression of anger from trotro drivers and taxi driver over incessant increases in fuel prices contrary to what Nana Addo promised them during his campaign. Don’t we hear the anger and disappointment of parents, who are now being told by President Akufo Addo that the free SHS is not free for all SHS students,” he told a press conference in Accra on Wednesday.

Mr. Portuphy further condemned the Akufo Addo led-government for the arbitrarily dismissed several public servants since January 7 including the likes of the Head of the Local Government Service and the Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund.

“Many public officers have been sacked just because they were appointed by the NDC government…the actions of the NPP government means that every public officer must be replaced when a new party is elected.”
