Deputy General Secretary of The opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Koku Anyidoho says he has detailed information indicating that the Attorney General, Gloria Akuffo ordered the release of eight (8)members of the NPP vigilante group, Delta Force.

According to him, the Nana Addo-led government is manipulating the laws of the country to favor their interest – reason he said Madam Akuffo was appointed to occupy that office.

“With this issue of Delta Force, what we are hearing and picking up is that, the instruction to release the Delta Force suspects came from Accra for the senior attorney in Kumasi to apply it. That is what we have picked up,” he said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Koku, when questioned by host Kwasi Aboagye to reveal his source says – “We have informants in there. So Gloria Akufo cannot sit in Accra and pretend she doesn’t know anything about that. Gloria Akufo is the master brain behind this decision. This information comes from a very reliable source so don’t treat it as hearsay. She knows about it”.

His accusation comes on the heels of news reports indicating that some eight members of the NPP militia group, Delta Force, standing trial for assaulting a judge and disrupting court processes, have been discharged based on “lack of evidence”.

Earlier last month, the eight, in a ‘movie style’ action, barged into the court, harrassed and rained insults on the judge and forcibly freed 13 other members of the Delta Force who were standing trial for assaulting the Ashanti Region Security Coordinator.

The 13 suspects did not understand why Mr. George Agyei should be appointed as Security Coordinator when he played little or no role in the coming into power of the NPP.

Over 50 members of the Delta Force forced their way into the Regional Security Coordinator's office, bundled Mr. Agyei out of his office and threatened to lynch him, but he was rescued by some police officers.
