Ghana defender Harrison Afful suffered a slight knee injury in Columbus Crew SC’s 1-1 draw in their season opener against Chicago Fire on Saturday.
Afful lasted the entire duration at the MAPFRE Stadium as the Black and Gold three away a first half lead.
''He has a laceration to his knee. Probably a pretty bad bruise. David Accam tried to back heel the ball and his studs went in to Harrison’s [Afful] knee. And no, it wasn’t malicious or anything,'' head coach Gregg Behalter said in a post-match interview
Afful played alongside compatriots Jonathan Mensah and Mohammed Abu.
