After Day II of his testimony at the Accra High Court (June 20, 2024) Jakpa dealt with another set of questions outside the box as he left the court premises.

GHOne TV shared a video of Jakpa in the parking lot of the court complex 'fighting off' a group of sympathizers who were demanding money from him.

While trying to move his Toyota Landcruiser, Jakpa is heard begging for clemency while stating that he was a man engaged in an expensive venture of fighting for his freedom.

"I am fighting for my liberty, you people too want to make money from me again, habba," he stated as one of the sympathizers pressed for monetary assistance.

"Don't you understand what I am saying? I am fighting for my liberty. It is expensive, now you people too want to make money from me again?" he repeated.

In the video, he is joined in his car by aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Felix Kwakye Ofosu as they drive out of the premises.

Jakpa is standing trial with former Deputy Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, in the purchase of ambulances. Both men have pleaded not guilty to willfully causing financial loss to the state in excess of over 2.7 million euros.
