The Head of the Civil Service, Dr Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, has called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to move beyond policy formulation and focus on effective implementation, measurable results, and improved citizen experiences.
He made the call in Accra when he officially opened the 2026 Civil Service Policy and Cultural Exhibition Fair, held as part of activities marking Civil Service Week under the theme, “The Reset Agenda for Sustainable Development in Ghana: The Civil Service’s Responsibilities.”
Dr Aggrey-Darkoh said the fair provides a platform for public institutions and their partners to showcase policies, programmes, innovations, and interventions while engaging citizens and stakeholders on their impact.
He stressed that the relevance of the Civil Service should ultimately be measured by citizens’ satisfaction, urging institutions to listen to public concerns and use feedback to improve service delivery.
He encouraged participating institutions to share innovations, strengthen collaboration, and embrace reforms that would make the Civil Service more responsive, accountable, agile, and productive.
The Head of the Civil Service also announced a medical screening exercise organised by the Ministry of Health and encouraged participants to take advantage of the opportunity.
Following the opening ceremony, Dr Aggrey-Darkoh toured the exhibition booths of participating MDAs, interacting with officials and receiving briefings on their work.
The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts showcased Ghana’s tourism potential, cultural heritage, and creative arts through traditional artefacts, information on tourist attractions, and an overview of the Ministry’s mandate and its 13 agencies.
The exhibition also highlighted how the Ministry and its agencies collectively contribute to the development of Ghana’s tourism, culture, and creative arts sectors while providing an avenue for public education, engagement, and feedback.
The fair is expected to strengthen the connection between government institutions and citizens, promote awareness of public sector mandates, and encourage improved service delivery.
