A human rights lawyer, George Bernard Shaw has revealed that he is not being paid for offering his services in defense of suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama.

According to him, he is only defending the suspects ‘pro borno publico’ but is worried over the attacks in the media over his decision wondering where he has gone wrong.

He also disclosed that he has not been given access to his clients ever since they were arrested even though it is their right to have an attorney indicating that the rights of the accused persons must not also be abused.

“I am not doing this for money; I am just a human rights lawyer. I am totally against mob justice. Stop trying the case in the media. The media should know better and educate the public”

The lawyer who has come under attack in media said “the media should stop insulting me. Some of them even address me as “that devil of a lawyer” and use all sort of abusive words on my personality. I am on the brink of withdrawal”

Major Maxwell Adam Mahama who was the Commander of a military detachment stationed at Denkyira-Boase in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region, was lynched by residents after they suspected he was a robber.
