Former Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah, has clarified that he never called for a revolution in his interview he granted Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm last week.
He told Kwame Tutu today [Monday] he was only sending a word of caution that, following the economic hardship and unemployment rate in the country; there could be a possibility of a revolution by the citizens of the country especially the youth.
Mr Nunoo-Mensah last Friday expressed worry over the unemployment situation in the country and warned Ghanaians may soon explode due to the difficulties confronting them.
When asked if he was suggesting there could be a revolution, he answered saying there could be the possibility if leaders fail to address the challenges. Information gathered by Rainbow Radio has it that the story has shaken the security apparatus of the country.
And so, in clarifying his previous interview, Nunoo-Mensah said, ‘’I never called for a revolution. I never did that. I cannot do it. I am a descent man. I called for carefulness due to the struggles Ghanaians are going through.’’
