Salifu Maase, the host of Montie FM’s political talk show, has rejected media reports suggesting there was a Twitter war between him and British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin.
A previous news story claims the controversial radio host popularly called Mugabe, "started a turf war with the British High Commissioner to Ghana on Twitter over the former’s decision to visit his family in the UK.
Mugabe is reported to have told the Commissioner in a tweet that “UK is not heaven”.
But according to Mugabe, the said Twitter account does not belong to him even though it is in his name.
“I would like to state categorically that I have no Twitter account with the name “Mugabe Maase”. I want to say without mincing words that I do not have or belong to any social media platform. I don’t patronize Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Instagram, Viber, or Tango,” he said in a statement.

My attention has been drawn to reports that I Mugabe Maase is engaged in verbal war with the British High Commissioner to Ghana on Twitter.
A news story dubbed: “‘UK is not heaven’ – Mugabe fires in a twitter war with Jon Benjamin,” which was published on 3news.com and subsequently on Ghanaweb indicates that I started the purported war via a tweet in which I stated my intention to leave Ghana for the UK with the High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, also replying to thank me for apparently ‘forewarning’ them.
I would like to state categorically that I have no Twitter account with the name “Mugabe Maase”. I want to say without mincing words that I do not have or belong to any social media platform. I don’t patronize facebook, twitter, whatsapp, instagram, viber, or tango.
I nonetheless, reported the incident to twitter with the help of family and friends after they drew my attention to the said Account and the user has since been blocked from using my name.
I want to use this opportunity to inform all my friends and loved ones to disregard the deliberate attempt by some unscrupulous individuals to paint me black in the media and further execute their agenda targeted at my life. Thank you
