Paul Chen, a 47-year-old Chinese national and part of the new 824 lawyers officially called to the Bar, has shared his willingness to support the fight against illegal mining in the country.
In a media interaction on October 10, 2025, Chen Paul noted that he is ever willing to educate all Chinese nationals actively involved in illegal mining (galamsey) about the country's law.
"I hope to educate all Chinese nationals involved in galamsey about Ghana's legal system and laws," he said.
Meanwhile, Chen Paul is an old student of the TI Ahmadiyya Secondary School and holds a law degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He moved to Ghana at a young age and currently engages in business in Kumasi.

During the call-to-bar ceremony, Chen Paul also expressed gratitude to the lecturers and judges who guided him throughout his studies, acknowledging that their support made the journey much more manageable.
The call-to-Bar ceremony included 824 new lawyers who had completed their professional legal training and passed the Bar examinations.
Members of the Judiciary, including the General Legal Council, distinguished members of the Bar, family members, and well-wishers also attended the ceremony.
