President John Dramani Mahama says his party will win the upcoming general election based on his party’s record in the last four years.

Speaking to chiefs and people of Manya Krobo Tuesday as part of his “Accounting to the People Tour”. The President said the infrastructural projects embarked upon by his administration has been phenomenal despite economic challenges, adding that the electorate will retain his government in power based on the achievements.

“Over the past four years, we’ve had economic challenges buy despite the economic challenges, if you look at the investments we’ve made in education, in health, in supply of water, in roads and other infrastructural projects all over the country, it’s been phenomenal,” President Mahama said.

“I have presented myself to lead the NDC party in the next election and I believe that with the record that we’ve in our first term in office, we believe that the people of Ghana will give us a second term to complete the work that we are doing,” he said amidst wild jubilation from the crowd addressing the chiefs and people of the Manya Krobo traditional area, the President explained the objective of his tour as well as cataloguing the developments that the area is receiving under his administration in the areas of education, infrastructure, and health among others.

He assured the chiefs and people of the area that his administration will not take the region for granted considering their support to the ruling NDC over the years.

In his welcome address, the Kono (paramount chief) of Manya Krobo, Nene Agbau Narh III commended President Mahama for fulfilling his 2012 campaign promises to the chefs and people of the area.

The region is witnessing the construction of a public University as part of efforts by government to ensure that all ten regions get state universities.

For her part, the Regional Minister, Mavis Ama Frimpong assured the President of the people’s resolve to support him and the NDC at all times.

The second leg of the tour of the Eastern Region took him to Akwamu where he assured the chiefs and people that the Apeguso to Mpakadan road as well as the Gyekete and Anum Bosso roads will be fixed.

President Mahama touted Ghana’s economic resilience despite the global economic downturn.
