Dr. Abu Sakara, Convention People’s Party (CPP) Presidential candidate, has promised to provide a leadership of inspiration and hope for the rest of Africa to emulate.
He said “under the former CPP government a leadership of an inspiration and hope for Africa was offered” and that a new CPP government under his care would ensure that Ghana was placed where it deserved.
Dr Sakara gave the assurance on Tuesday during the maiden Presidential debate organised by the Institute of Economic affairs (IEA) to engage presidential candidates who have representation in Parliament to share their vision, ideas, ideologies and strategies to build the country.
Other presidential candidates including President John Dramani Mahama, NDC presidential candidate, Hassan Ayariga, PNC Presidential candidate and Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, NPP Presidential candidate all took turns to woo Ghanaians for votes in the 7th December polls.
Dr. Sakara who was answering a general question as to his vision for Ghana said, the CPP would ensure that Ghana gets the best that it deserved to remain the model of democracy and a pace setter in economic transformation.
He said the vision of the CPP was to implement free compulsory education saying he would also invest in the human resource to ensure that the best of education was given to children.
He said a CPP administration would help farming directly and indirectly and that it was necessary to help improve the structures that kept agriculture going.
Dr Sakara said the private sector, which continued to be the engine of growth would be properly taken care of to ensure that jobs were created to solve the teaming unemployment in the country.
