Manasseh Azure Awuni, the journalist at the centre of President Mahama Car gift allegation has rubbished reports making rounds on social media that he’s putting up a building at Kete Krachi in the Volta region from the proceeds he had obtained from what has been widely criticized by some elements of the ruling government as a tainted work by the Journalist.
The journalist is linked to some photographs of a building being circulated on social media suggesting that he[Manasseh] is putting up such building somewhere in Kete Krachi in the Volta region.
But the journalist has dismissed the reports asking the public to ignore the false publications about him.
A statement released by the investigative Journalist on his Facebook Page said: ” That building is not mine. It does not belong to any member of my nuclear or extended family. I do not own a plot of land anywhere on this planet as I type this. The publication is false.
He further continued “In any case, if I wanted to sell one-tenth of my conscience and yield to one-tenth of the offers people have made or are prepared to make in order to kill my stories, I would be boasting about mansions in Trassacco Valley and not that building in those photographs.”
This follows revelation by the journalist that President John Mahama received a car gift from a Burkinabe contractor, Djibril Kanazoe who was incidentally awarded a $650,000 contract to fence a parcel of land for Ghana’s Embassy in that country.
Mr Mahama himself has dared his critics to use constitutional procedures to have the matter probed if they had any evidence to back their claim of conflict of interest and bribery against him.
