Deputy National coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization, Anita De Soso, has challenged the claim by the Meteorological Agency that it had informed NADMO of the rains on Independence day about a week ago, and at 3:00am on Thursday.

Madam De Soso who spoke on Agoo Fm categorically stated that NADMO never received any report which forecasted a torrential rain on the independence day and dared the meteor service to name the department they placed such a report.

She therefore advised the service "not to shift their responsibilities," but should be ready to accept responsibility for their actions and inactions.

President John Mahama yesterday charged the Meteorological Agency to "sharpen our ability to be able to better predict the behavior of the weather in order to be able to adapt to it"

The service, speaking through Mr. Richard Agyeman, described the president assertions as "baseless"

The deputy coordinator indicated that NADMO do not act on unclear reports, and that as the second chair of the organization, she is yet to see the report of the Meteorological Service predicting rain on Ghana's 57th Independence Day Celebration.
