Renowned television executive and actor, John Osei Tutu Agyeman, also known as JOT Agyeman, has announced his intention of contesting for the primaries to represent the Ayawaso Central Constituency in the 2020 elections.
According to him, after taking a critical analysis of the constituency, he believes he possesses the qualities to raise the standards of the people, while he brings back decency and respect to politics in the constituency.
In a statement released Friday, the former General Manager for Atinka TV said, “It is necessary for well-meaning Ghanaians to throw their hats into the arena of politics and not condone any attempt by any person to be retained unopposed. Ayawaso Central is a gem. The constituency recently embraced its municipal status opening it up for development and change,” he said.
Meanwhile, JOT made it known that he had lived in the constituency for most of his life and contributed his quota, although he noted that there was more to do to give it a facelift.
“These and many more are the reasons why I will be contesting the primaries for the opportunity to represent the constituency in the 2020 general elections. The road will be bumpy and tough, but my desire and drive to affect lives and bring change is greater, with God at my side, I am confident that no matter what happens, the constituency will be the winner at the end of the day. God bless Ghana. God bless Ayawaso Central,” he added.
