Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo has emerged as a top transfer target for Celta Vigo, according to reports in Spain.
The LaLiga side are said to have already placed an offer to KRC Genk for the robust centre-back.
There are talks of a 5 million euros offer which could rise by 3 million euros more in bonuses.
With 41 appearances, Aidoo helped KRC Genk to win the Belgian Jupiler League this just ended season and the club could be forced to sell to avoid losing him on a free next summer.
The 23-year-old joined the side from Hammarby in a 1.25m euro deal in summer 2017 for three seasons – he, thus, will be entering the final year of his contract in the coming season.
The former Inter Allies skipper is currently on international duty with the Ghana senior national team. He is part of the Black Stars’ final squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations set to be staged in Egypt.
Joseph Aidoo, who was named in the 2018/19 Europa League team of the group stages, is also reported to have attracted interest from a couple of clubs in Europe including Scottish giants Celtic FC.
