June 4 revolution was meant for the ordinary people – Action Movement

A pro National Democratic Congress (NDC) group, Action Movement says the June 4th revolution was meant for the ordinary people in Ghana.

Action Movement celebrated the 38th Anniversary of the June 4th Revolution at Aflao in the Volta Region on the theme; Restoring the values of Probity, Accountability and truth in contemporary governance.

Thousands of NDC supporters and sympathizers trooped to the St Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Park at Aflao and Action Movement used the occasion to organize a football gala match for eight (8) soccer clubs in the Region.

The Spokesperson for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Action Movement, Mr Kodzo Hamenya Keglo speaking at the event said ‘The most important thing that has happened to Ghana is the June 4th and we will always celebrate you for your love for country, love for the ordinary people, truth nature, ingenuity, honesty and frankness. These are traits that when our party the NDC can hold on to, including Probity and Accountability the 2016 election would have been won. But now we are sure that 2020 will be for the NDC and these qualities will be our hallmark’.

“Many of our people who made their living on corrupt activities at the time of the June 4th saw no reason why J.J. Rawlings have to devote his life for building of this country. Their expectation were that, J. J Rawlings will leave them to milk this nation the way they were doing through the activities such as corruption, Bribery, Smuggling and Profiteering,” Keglo added.

Mr Kodzo Hamenya Keglo further said ‘June 4th is so special to us as Ghanaians. As a country, it is the June 4th that made Probity, accountability and truth as special values to us. And it is June 4th that worked hard to make sure that these values are practiced in our daily activities. June 4th has been 38 years of hard work for Ghana.

Our founder’s good qualities, such as love for humanity, Probity, accountability and truth has inspired young officers to lend their hands to accomplish the June 4th for Ghana as a country to get rid of the root that were pervasive at the time, we have every right to celebrate you for having qualities that many of our leaders are lacking today. Our current leaders have no empathy for Ghanaians’.

He continued that ‘We have come to understand you deeply our founder, that if our leaders can just do 10% of the principles you always talk about as a country or a party, our party the NDC will naturally connect to the grass root that those principles will benefit and will give them a reason to live and also connect constantly to the NDC

The era before the June 4th revolution saw excessive corruption, high inflation, shortages of essential goods, under production, lack of raw materials, and mismanagement of the economy, repudiations and loss of reputation for this nation and there was the need for someone who is bold, courageous and truthful in character to help this nation. And the son of this land ( the Volta Region) was there for the nation’.

The spokesperson concluded that “In our party the NDC today, the very corrupt members who cannot steal or loot funds when the founder Jerry John Rawlings is seating in as the founder are doing everything to destroy the founder.

These devilish and corrupt personalities in the NDC are disrespecting the founder; they organize people to insult and abuse the founder to the excitement of the part executives and the leadership.

The action movement wants to make it clear that, this is a movement of hard work and unity, nobody should insult the founder again for parochial interest. It will come with actions nobody can stop.”
