Government has finally made available the Justice Brobbey’s Commission report ahead of the 27th December referendum to decide on the creation of six new regions in the country.

The Commission, led by Justice Brobbey, was set up by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on October 17, 2017 to inquire into six petitions received from Brong-Ahafo, Volta, Northern and Western regions demanding the creation of new regions.

After its work, the commission reported the need for the creation of the regions to the President, but the report was not made public.

The Minority in parliament raised concerns questioning why the full report should be shrouded in secrecy and demanding it be made public.

Consequently, the Ministry of Information published the report.

The 428-paged report spells out the evolution and rationale for the creation of each of the six new regions, as well as the strategies to be used to achieve the objectives.

The report also spells out the places where referendum will be held.
