Communications Director for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has described Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta as the greediest politician in Ghana’s history.
He said if greed were to be a human being, he would have been named after Ken Ofori Atta.
He was reacting to comments by the minister who recently described customers of troubled gold dealership company, Menzgold as greedy.
Addressing the media at the party’s second ‘Moment of Truth’ at the party’s headquarters Wednesday, he said, the minister lacks the moral right and integrity to describe Menzgold customers as greedy.
He went on to slam government for making Nana Appiah Mensah aka NAM 1 and his company credible because of the endorsement done by the president and some of his appointees.
In providing some evidence to buttress his point, he said NAM 1 was honoured in 2018 by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana at its Ghana Business Quality Awards, which he claimed was under the auspices of the Finance Ministry.
This he noted makes the comment by the minister hypocritical.
“…it is ultimate hypocrisy for the same Ken Ofori Attack whose ministry lured innocent citizens to invest in Menzgold, to turn around and insult the grieving customers as greedy people. We would like to inform Ken Ofori Atta, that he is by far the greediest political figure in Ghana today and lacks the moral high ground to label any citizen of Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana as greedy. If greed ever was a human being, his name will be Ken Ofori Atta.”
