The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has slammed his deputy Koku Anyidoho for rejecting an appointment from the party.
According to Mr Nketia, his contender and deputy declined the position on the grounds that he’s campaigning towards the upcoming National Delegates Congress.
Asiedu Nketia a.k.a General Mosquito in an interview with Adom TV stated that Mr Anyidoho may have rejected the committee appointment because he sees it as a trap for him to lose the position he is contesting him for.
“My two deputies are supposed to chair some of the committees but what is painful is that when you call them to come and chair any of the committees they rejected the appointment. Koku was told to chair one of the committees and he said the appointment is a trap by his detractors to get him to stay in the office and deny him the opportunity to campaign and interact with delegates across the country. He said he has no time to spare to sit in the office and become a committee Chairman.”
The leadership of the largest opposition NDC on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, inaugurated various committees including 14 sub-committees to ensure a successful congress to elect new leaders to manage the party for the next four years.
The sub-committees include publicity, Transport, Grounds, Materials and Logistics, Legal, Procurement, Medical, Vetting, security, Accreditation and Media, feeding among others.
The election for the position of Youth Organiser and his two Deputies and that of the Women’s Organiser and her two Deputies is slated for Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Pentecost Convention Centre located at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.
