Founding President of IMANI Ghana - a policy Think Tank - Franklin Cudjoe, says although he believes the newly appointed acting head of the beleaguered National Service Scheme will not “steal” from the state, he may not succeed at the job.

Cudjoe says his conclusions are drawn from the fact that Dr Michaal Kpessa Whyte “has demonstrably NOT run anything organisationally successful in his life until this appointment”.

“He is not a thief and will not steal any public funds but may not be successful in such web of thieving public servants as he has demonstrably NOT run anything organisationally successful in his life until this appointment”, Cudjoe wrote on his Facebook, Monday.

He added: “He is relatively better than the brigands and thieves that have taken over virtually all the affairs of this country and running amok at almost every level”.

Dr Whyte was appointed by President Mahama to head the NSS following the dismissal of the substantive head, Alhaji Alhassan Imoro and other officials after a BNI investigation uncovered massive rot at the scheme.

According to the BNI investigation, about 22,612 non-existent national service persons in more than 100 districts across the country in July, had each been paid an allowance of Ghc350 a month, amounting to Ghc7.9 million.
