A private legal practitioner has warned that Daily Searchlight Editor, Ken Kuranchie, could be jailed again for contempt if he continues his defense of the contemptuous comments that landed him in prison.
On his release from prison yesterday, Mr. Kuranchie told journalists he had no regrets about the comments that resulted in his 10-day imprisonment.
He told the media that he was convinced injustice has been done to him.
But lawyer Kingsley Yeboah warns the Supreme Court could invite him again on similar grounds.
“Any statement you make, it doesn’t matter you suffered previous incarceration you could still be jailed. Or as it were, be brought to court to be trialed for contempt,” he warned.
He has, therefore, advised Mr Kuranchie to be temperate now that he has regained his freedom and “use words that are not insulting or denigrating of the justices. If he does then he will be invited and sanctioned again.”
Meanwhile, lawyer for the Daily Searchlight Editor, Atta Akyea has advised his client to tone down on his comments.
