The 8th Sitting of the Second Meeting of the Second Session of Ghana’s Ninth Parliament is currently underway on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with lawmakers considering a range of legislative and administrative matters.

A key item on the Order Paper is the presentation and consideration of the Business Statement, which outlines the programme of activities for the week and sets the agenda for parliamentary proceedings.

The Business Statement is expected to guide debates on bills, motions, committee reports, ministerial engagements, and other matters scheduled for consideration by the House. It also provides Members of Parliament with an overview of the legislative priorities and oversight responsibilities to be undertaken during the period.

During the sitting, MPs are expected to scrutinise government policies and programmes, consider reports from various parliamentary committees, and deliberate on issues of national importance affecting governance, economic development, and public welfare.

The House may also receive ministers and other public officials to respond to questions and provide updates on matters within their respective sectors, in line with Parliament's oversight mandate.
