President John Dramani Mahama is hosting a high-level event on the Accra Reset as part of activities ahead of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The event, being held today, Monday, September 21, 2026, brings together world leaders and key stakeholders to discuss the future of global development under the theme, “Full Circle: Making Global Development Work Again.”
The High-Level Event on the Accra Reset is aimed at advancing discussions on Africa’s renewal and addressing some of the challenges affecting the global development system.
This forms part of President Mahama’s engagements ahead of the 81st UN General Assembly, which is being held under the theme, “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All.”
President Mahama is also scheduled to host another side event on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, focused on reparatory justice and international cooperation for the return and restitution of cultural properties and heritage.
He will subsequently deliver Ghana’s official statement during the main General Debate of the UN General Assembly on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
