'Liar’ Ken Agyapong can’t buy off my ‘loyal Azorka boys’ - Sofo Azorka

Sofo Azorka, the ‘fearsome’ Northern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress has lashed out at NPP MP for Assin Central Honourable Kennedy Agyapong, denying claims the NPP MP made that Azorka Boys were used by NPP to block the NDC’s rigging agenda.

MyNewsGH.com reported how Mr Agyapong on Boiling Point on Oman FM claimed he had vital information of how NDC had created over thousand illegal polling stations and had planned to use the said polling stations to double their electoral fortunes. He said what he did was to block the NDC party from carrying out their operation by thumb printing ballot papers and smuggling them to collation centres to be counted, revealing that he contracted the leader of Azorka boys and promised him a Land Cruiser and other gifts just to influence him to control his boys on the day of the elections.

But Founder of the eponymously named vigilante group aligned to the NDC has dismissed all those claims as false, and an attempt at diversion of attention from the heat on government over the sacking of EC Boss Charlotte Osei.

“I want to put on record that Azorka Boys is a discipline group whose interest is to make sure that the Great NDC interest is protected at all times no matter the situation. We have shown leadership of our Party what we are made up of both in power and in opposition. Our loyalty to the great NDC is unquestionable." Azorka said.

“I also want to state that Azorka Boys at no time before, during and after the 2016 general elections met Kennedy Agyepong anywhere in the country. Indeed the difficulties NPP is going through need serious diversionary tactics to sustain them for a while. The removal of Mrs Charlotte Osei, the Electoral Commissioner and her two deputies, is giving them nightmare that the only body that NPP and Kennedy Agyepong fear is Azorka Boys hence the monstrous lies being heaped on me and my boys.”

My attention has been drawn to a news item on an online portal, mynewsgh.com, reporting a conversation from Oman Fm where Hon. Kennedy Agyepong boastfully made a horrendous lies about Azorka Boys in connection with the 2016 general elections.

I want to put on record that Azorka Boys is a discipline group whose interest is to make sure that the Great NDC interest is protected at all times no matter the situation. We have shown leadership of our Party what we are made up of both in power and in opposition. Our loyalty to the great NDC is unquestionable.

I also want to state that Azorka Boys at no time before, during and after the 2016 general elections met Kennedy Agyepong anywhere in the country. Indeed the difficulties NPP is going through need serious diversionary tactics to sustain them for a while. The removal of Mrs Charlotte Osei, the Electoral Commissioner and her two deputies, is giving them nightmare that the only body that NPP and Kennedy Agyepong fear is Azorka Boys hence the monstrous lies being heaped on me and my boys. Is on record that I, Chief Sorfo Azorka, is resident in Tamale with my boys and do not have representative in Accra. It is therefore not true that the leader of Azorka boys is in Accra where Kennedy Agyepong indicated Azorka Boys leader told him that he and his boys have been rigging elections for the NDC. Azorka Boys are not part of the NDC Elections Directorate and does not meddle in their activities. The NDC under my leadership won clean elections for the Party both in 2012 and 2016 general elections in the region. Indeed it is only my region that increased the popular votes for the NDC in the 2016 elections. We will continue to support the course of the NDC in the region.

I challenged Kennedy Agyepong to come clean with his diversionary allegations just because the NDC is planning to hit the road on the removal of the Electoral Commissioner and her two deputies. We are unshaken with this blatant lies and will soon show our teeth after the funeral of the late Vice President, H.E. Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur.
