The Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, collapsed on stage while delivering a speech on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
A video of the incident showed the Madina MP delivering a speech at what appeared to be an auditorium at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Suddenly, he began showing signs of dizziness and dropped the microphone he was holding. He held on to the podium but was still unable to stand upright.
A woman then approached the podium from the side of the hall to assist him, shortly followed by another man in a suit.
The two held on to the legislator to prevent him from falling, while more people rushed onto the stage to help.
The MP subsequently passed out in the hands of those who had rushed to his aid.
They carried him off the stage as some people could be heard expressing shock over the incident.
No official statement has been issued by the MP’s office or Parliament regarding his condition.
