President John Dramani Mahama and his wife Lordina Mahama were treated to a Whitehouse dinner by the US first family ahead of the US-Africa summit on Wednesday.
The summit which officially begun August 6, is the inaugural international summit hosted by U.S. president Barack Obama in Washington D.C. Among other things, it is intended to increase US investment and interest in Africa.
Leaders from 50 African states are attending the three-day summit that primarily focuses on trade, investment and security of the African continent.
Obama and his wife Michelle Obama hosted the African leaders including Mahama, who is the chairman of ECOWAS, together with their spouses to a dinner in the White House before the main summit kicked off.
