The President is wrapping up his campaign tour of the region where his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has targeted 50 per cent of votes in the December polls although the region is seen as more friendly to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
As part of his tour, Mr Mahama visited Abirem where he inaugurated a new market complex and promised to construct their town roads. He also made stops at Akroso, Suhum, Abetifi, Mpraeso and other areas.
In all the places he visited, he appealed to the chiefs and people to retain him in office as the elections inch closer.
