Mahama is worse than Mills; He’ll still fail – Ken Agyapong

Outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Agyapong has hit hard at the current administration describing President John Dramani Mahama as the country’s ‘worse’ ever leader; far worse than his predecessor, the late President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.

According to the NPP firebrand, the caliber of Ministers nominated by President Mahama clearly indicates that he has nothing good to offer Ghanaians and can never succeed as a President even if given a four year term.

“President Mahama’s appointment clearly shows he is a failure. He (Prez Mahama) is worse than late President Mills. He has failed completely and even if you give him four years he will still fail with these kind of appointments. Check the curriculum vitae of these entire Ministers and state clearly their achievement. What I am saying is Ghana first, let’s put politics aside,” he said.

Despite his harsh assessment of President Mahama's administration, the Assin Central MP, who was speaking on Kumasi-based HELLO FM, however extolled him for impacting positively on the Ghana Police service.

“Currently, on the issue of security, I think the NDC has done very well with policing. At every vantage point, there is a police unit to ensure security. The security of this country is very paramount and I give it to them for the good work done. But trust me, the appointment and the mismanagement of funds is appalling,” he said.

The Assin North MP therefore called on Ghanaians to query the President on why funds are disbursed without being accounted for.

“If the president claims Ghana’s economy is in the red, Ghanaians should ask him questions because he was the vice President for almost four years and now president for four months and again handed over to himself. So if he is now claiming that the economy is bad, then Ghanaians should wake up and ask him questions.

“If a whole Finance Minister appointed by president Mahama can utter that the country is broke and again says the country is not broke but red, what is the difference between red and broke in finance? This is a serious issue that we have to discuss. We shouldn’t politicize this issue because it’s a shame on us as Ghanaians…If the president wants to redeem Ghana, then he should seriously take a second look at his appointments because this cannot lead us anywhere,” Kennedy Agyapong said.
