Lead counsel for the first respondent in the election petition filed to challenge President Mahama at the Supreme Court, Lawyer Tony Lithur, has been accused by the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, of sticking the knife in to deprive Ghana of huge sums of monies, when he acted as counsel to ensure Mr. Woyome and Waterville were set free.

For this reason, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong believes the “dishonesty” of Mr. Tony Lithur leaves judicial authorities the only option of barring counsel from appearing before the court.

He noted that it would be appropriate to even stop him from attending the current Supreme Court trial which features him as lead counsel for President Mahama.

“President Mahama must tell Tony Lithur to step aside as his counsel in court. He must not be allowed to even step inside the courtroom. He has been so dishonest and unfair to this country… he was part of the lawyers that connived with Woyome and Waterville to take that huge sum of monies from this poor country,” Mr. Agyapong noted.
