Even though the supreme court judges deferred to the lower courts to decide on Woyome, they fired a critical salvo against lawyers in the cases- Peasah Boadu for Waterville, Osafo Buabeng for Woyome, Tony Lithur for Austro Invest and maybe Ekow Awoonor who acted as sole mediator between parties with then AG Betty Mould Iddrissu.
The counsel for John Mahama,Tony Lithur, at the supreme court election petition case was part of the woyome scam that stole millions of Euros from Ghana. This is SICK- NDC must go.

The President seeked the services of Lithor to defend him but not the other way round. Lithor has not violated any laws or rules of the law profession or the country. It would be ethically and morally wrong if any lawyer refused to be hired by Woyomei to defend him. All those insulting and vilifying Mr Lithor has little or no knowledge at all about the workings of a lawyer and the LAW profession itself. Even a killer, a rapist, and those who commit henious crimes get lawyers to defend them. REMEMBER THIS: YOU ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVING GUILTY in a court of law. Mr Agyapong should come off his high horse. The Kuffour regime awarded a huge contract for electrification to his wife. It was indirect payment made to him to finance the NPP. And he bought his Rolls Royce from the proceeds of this illgotten gain. No civilized country would have awarded a contract to an associate of a legislator who belonged to the governing party. That was no more than stealing and laundering state funds. The only reason he appears to know more about the Woyome case is because he inhabits this nether world of conspirators who loot state funds via dubious deals. The minority leader himself was sponsored by Woyome and was also gifted a 4X4.

The fact that you are a lawyer does not mean you intentionally holds a brief for a client you know is intentionally lying. There is a reason behind why those lawyers have been cited and might end up losing their licences.

Stop propagating lies and idiocy. The contract awarded to Kennedy Agyapong's wife was fulfilled and the government has not even paid him. Do you know the government of Ghana under Mills even admitted Kennedy's wife fulfilled her contract but the government does not have the money to pay her at the moment?

Nobody would have hounded Woyome if he has legitimate contract with the government and has done any work to merit that payment but Woyome did not have any contract with the government which he himself admitted to. His contract was with Waterville which the company admitted of paying Woyome for whatever he did for them so the 51.2 million Ghana cedis or 30 million dollars given to Woyome was a money laundered by the NDC to build their Party headquarters and Woyome will start singing soon and we will see the heads that will roll. Woyome will not go down alone.

Lawyers are in the business to represent people at court for all cases. How can that be a crime? When you hire the servises of a lawyer, the lawyer goes to court to defend you and also advises you about your case. Agyapong should know this when you had to take a lawyer to defend him, during his infamouse case - announcing on radio that all Ewes and Gas should be killed? This little hint has NDC scouts fuming; they cannot stand the truth because it hurts.

By this revelation, it's become obvious that the EC & NDC lead councils are money-conscious who'd put their lives and dignity on the line when money is the topic. They're in court doing all they can to defend the indefencible. But it's not strange to note that they'll rather vouch for criminals instead, rather than standing for the truth or honesty. It's so sad to note. Oh, what a team of legal councilors!

Tony Lithur has been exposes here. As for Tsatsu Tsikata, everybody knows his background. So the little said about him, the better it would be. When Ghanaians want to search for a dishonest and "lie-lie" man, they don't have to look any farther. There's one such example sitting before our Supreme Court's Noble Justices.

It's no wonder they've all assembled in court to help the EC and NDC to deceive Ghanaians and the court. What a shame!

In The Matter Of The Supreme Court Verdict On Waterville TOP LAWYERS RUN FOR COVER…Nerquaye-Tetteh For Solicitor-General

The Supreme Court’s directive on Friday, referring lawyers who facilitated the payment of 25 million Euros in dubious judgment debt to the General Legal Council, is being interpreted in legal circles as a dent in the government’s legal representation.

The Supreme Court held on Friday that if the lawyers, including former Attorney-General Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu, her deputy at the time, Mr. Ebo Barton-Odro, who now sits in Parliament as First Deputy Speaker, and a host of state attorneys, including Mr. Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh, had been diligent, they would have prevented the state from paying 25 million Euros in illegal payment to Waterville.

The court held that there was enough evidence to show that both Waterville and Alfred Agbesi Woyome had no contract with the Government of Ghana to warrant the payments to them.

There are many within and outside the legal profession who are questioning the moral authority with which Mr. Barton-Odro, for instance, supervised over the screening of the President’s nominees for ministerial appointments, in the light of the role he played in awarding Mr. Woyome and Waterville huge payments from the state without valid contracts.

Mr. Barton-Odro is also a member of the African Parliament. He recently led the Ghana delegation to South Africa.

Mr. Tony Lithur, lead counsel for President John Dramani Mahama in the ongoing electoral petition before the Supreme Court, is also likely to face the General Legal Council. Mr. Lithur represented Astro-Invest, to make judgment debt claims on the Ghana Government, at a time he was supposed to know that the Austrian company was in liquidation.

While praising Mr. Martin Amidu, former Attorney-General, for initiating the action, the Supreme Court lampooned the lawyers who represented Waterville and Woyome, and aided the looting of state coffers.

The court held that Mr. Kofi Peasah-Buadu, lawyers for Waterville and Woyome, were collusive, collaborative and made the fraudulent representation that enabled them to expropriate the resources of the sovereign people of Ghana, contrary to Article 181 of the 1992 Constitution.

According to the highest court in the land, if counsel for the defendants had applied themselves diligently to the facts of the case, as demonstrated by the judgment, and averted themselves to critical exhibits, they might have taken a different stance, and given different professional legal advice.

The court also had some harsh words for Mr. Amadu Tanko, trial judge in the infamous ‘consent settlement judgment,” which paved the way for the naked looting of the state coffers to cover the two payments.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nerquaye-Tetteh, the controversial Chief State Attorney interdicted on the findings of the Economic and Organised Crime Office for his role in creating the avenue for bungling state officials to hand over the whopping GH¢51 million of state cash to Woyome for no work done, has sneaked back to the Attorney-General’s Department.

The Chronicle can report authoritatively that not only is he playing the role of a Chief State Attorney without any official blinking, Mr. Nerquaye-Tetteh is, in fact, scheming to be named the next Solicitor-General of the Republic of Ghana.

Concerned staff at the Attorney-General’s Department have openly expressed their worries to The Chronicle about the return of the man who has been cited as instrumental in the state losing that colossal amount without any evidence of work done.

Some junior officers The Chronicle spoke to expressed their worries about the image of the Attorney-General’s Department, especially when it was established by EOCO that Woyome wired GH¢400,000 of his booty into the bank account of the wife of Mr. Nerquaye-Tetteh.

At the weekend, a worried top official of the Ghana Bar Association told this paper that the new development was not a healthy sign for the future of the legal profession in the country.

“We have picked up the signals that Mr. Nerquaye-Tetteh has, indeed, returned to the AG’s Department. We are unaware, though, of any move to make him the Solicitor-General.

“We do not think it is a healthy sign that he should be allowed to return to prosecute wrongdoers with all that has happened. Ethically, it is not the very best of developments,” he stated.

The EOCO established in its report, commissioned by former President John Evans Atta Mills, that Mr. Nerquaye-Tetteh drafted letters to the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning to lay the foundation for the Woyome payments, but refused to defend his actions in court.

The EOCO also indicted Mr. Paul Asimenu, Head of Legal Duties, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, who was said to have quoted figures and sent information which created conditions for Woyome to be paid that huge sum of money, without any contract from the state

In a 5th October 2012 letter signed by its lawyer, Philip Addison, Attorney General, Benjamin Kunbour was notified that: “We (Rockshell's lawyers) are instructed to demand, which we hereby do, that you should take all necessary steps to ensure that Rockshell is paid the balance of its judgment debt of GHC75,149,751.47 or its United States dollars equivalent thereof together with legal costs of US$3,500,000 forthwith and at any rate not later than 14 days from the date thereof.”
