The First Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Madam Anita Disoso has expressed her disappointment in the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo. over the way and manner he has handled the request by former President John Dramani Mahama to keep his official residence at Bungalow No. 3 Prestige Link, Cantonments and its adjoining facilities as his ex gratia.
According to her, there was discussion between the former president and Nana Akufo-Addo and so it was disgusting the way and manner the issue was handled.
She however expressed her happiness that, Mr. Mahama has officially withdrawn his request to bring an end to the matter.
‘’I am extremely happy that former president Mahama has withdrawn his request because of the bad faith on the part of government. Mr. Mahama signed the withdrawal letter himself…If you had had a discussion with the former president and agreed to his request, but later came out to deny because of pressure from party supporters and members, it’s up to you. Now the president has withdrawn his request because you acted in bad faith.’'
Madam Anita Disoso in an interview with Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm on Tuesday hinted of mobilizing women to go and protect former president Mahama because the NPP were planning to eject him.
The outspoken politician in her submission on Tuesday said, ‘’Parliament has approved the request by the former president but if the NPP still insist they do not want to occupy the Australian House and still want the one being occupied by former president John Dramani Mahama, then they should go and eject him.
"They should dare eject him…If they have the effrontery, they should go to the residence and eject Mahama because they will be digging their own pit and not ours. Anyways, by the time they will get there, I would have mobilized our women to protect the former president.
"When they finish killing us, then they go ahead and eject him. They want to embarrass him. They should go ahead and embarrass him. Is that not what they want to do? We do not have anything to say to them but we are waiting for them. They should come over to his residence, we are waiting for them.’’
But reacting to the withdrawal letter from Mr. Mahama, Madam Anita Disoso said, this will end the attacks and unnecessary comments against the president who acted in good faith by only making a request which was duly granted but because of political influence, his request was turned down.
She also rubbished claims by some critics that, the NDC did same to former president Kufuor insisting, the former NPP leader was allocated a residence at Trasacco Valley but turned it down.
