Mark Agingre, a native of Binduri who has been declared wanted by the Ghana Police Service for a series of brutal murders in the Upper East Region, has granted an interview despite the ongoing manhunt.

In a video interview sighted by GhanaWeb on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Agingre was seen wearing a faded black T-shirt and a cap while addressing matters related to him being declared wanted.

According to him, he believes there is a deliberate attempt by some people to frame him, stating that his pictures were deceptively used to link him to a shooting incident in which he claims he had no involvement.

He recounted, “I was shown a post by my uncle where a bus had been shot in Nangodi along the Bolgatanga road. They used my picture on the shooting incident together with another person when all the while I was in Accra.”

He added that since the incident that led to him being declared wanted, the police have yet to come around in search of him.

“…The police posted the wanted poster on November 8; however, regarding the other incident, where they claim I was involved in the killing of a man and his child on the night of November 7, why didn’t they conduct an investigation before rushing to declare me wanted?” he questioned.

“…the police haven’t come around looking for me, and I haven’t heard anyone say that they came in search of me during my absence,” Agingre said.

Asked if he has a lawyer to counsel him on the case, he said, “I have people who have asked me to stay cool since they are working on it. Since they have posted it [picture], I cannot be roaming about all the time or travel anywhere. I have been told to relax as we see the outcome, and I’m looking up to them.”

According to the police, Agingre is believed to be behind a recent attack on November 7, 2025, in which a man, his wife, and three of their children were killed.

Another child who survived the attack is currently receiving treatment at the Bolgatanga Government Hospital.

The police also suspect him in connection with an earlier incident on October 27, 2025, in which an elderly man and his two children were murdered in Binduri. Investigations suggest he may be responsible for several other targeted killings in the area.

The police are now urging the public to assist in locating the suspect. Anyone with credible information is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or call 191 or 18555.

The Ghana Police Service assured the public that all necessary efforts are being made to track down the suspect and ensure he faces the law.
