Sporting Director of Ajax Marc Overmars has laughed off rumours linking youngster Brian Brobbey to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
On Transfer Deadline Day, there were rumours of a possible loan deal until the end of the season. The Dutch striker would have then headed to Real Madrid Castilla.
A move didn't materialize, but Los Blancos are reported to be readying a bid for the youngster in the summer.
But Ajax chief Overmars has poured cold water on the reports, claiming that it is not the right time to sell the 18-year-old forward and teammate Ryan Gravenberch.
'Totally incorrect. It seems to me very unwise if they already start thinking about it. Those boys are seventeen (Brobbey is now eighteen, ed.), First go and show something here.
Brobbey has scored 7 goals in 15 total appearances for Ajax’s Under 21s. Last season, he netted 15 goals in 12 games.
He also helped the Netherlands win the U-17 Euro tournament in 2018.
