Menzgold Ghana assured its customers at a press conference that investors who qualify to receive dividends would be given dates to do so.
The firm urged customers not to go to the branch offices until their communicated dates.
In a press briefing statement yesterday, the firm stated: “Customers are encouraged to only visit their branch on the date for their collection as the schedule will be strictly adhered to, to avoid crowding at the branches.”
The latest development seems to contradict the earlier statements made by the firm. Customers received text messages at midnight inviting them to the offices of Menzgold at 1pm not to collect their dividends but to check when they would be paid.
Customers are expected to crowd the offices contrary to what the firm wanted to avoid. It has not yet been established why Menzgold is not paying the dividends at once when customers visit their branches instead of giving them another date to come for payments.
One may ask if Menzgold cannot pay all dividends at once because it wants to avoid crowding at its branches, why it is inviting customers to crowd there just to check when they would be paid? Why can’t same time be used to pay them?
Interestingly, the SMS was sent at Midnight 12:06am asking customers to visit their branches “Tomorrow”.
Customers are confused if the tomorrow is question is today Friday or tomorrow Saturday since the SMS was sent on the wee hours of Friday morning.
