Michael Essien has transformed the Indonesian league since he joined Persib
Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has been linked with moves to the Major League Soccer with D.C United the possible destination for the former Chelsea man.
Essien, who is currently on the books of Indonesian side Persib Bandung, enjoyed a stellar first season with the Asians, netting five times for the club.
The former Real Madrid man has not reported to training yet, but he is expected to join the rest of the team on Friday but his future is still uncertain.
Meanwhile, Essien, who has been a part of a sponsorship boost for the club, might leave for life in the MLS.
According to reports in Indonesian, his departure could affect the club financial.
The Commissioner of PT Persib Bandung Dignity (UN) Zainuri Hasyim, says it can not ensure the future of Essien with Persib because it is still waiting for his arrival, after healing the injury.
"Later on Friday or next week he says he wants to come in. We'll see the conditions later when he's there," he said. (Mario Gomez) wants to see his condition after recovering, "Zainuri said yesterday .
